Learning Point, a leading education provider, sought to revamp their website to match the modern and contemporary design of their other digital assets, like the previously redesigned Curos.sg website. Faced with the constraints of Wix’s template-based platform, the project aimed to enhance user experience while adhering to a simple design guide, focusing on color simplification, font standardization, and the creation of a comprehensive icon library for their EdTech systems.

The Solution:

The redesign initiative began with the development of a concise design guide. The guide focused on streamlining the color palette to include a mix of Light (#E8F1F4), Dark Blue (#0D1A28), Accent Yellow (#F7FC00), and other complementary colors, ensuring a cohesive and modern aesthetic across the website. The typography was standardized around the Inter and Gilroy font families, chosen for their readability and contemporary feel. An extensive icon library was also created, aimed at enhancing the visual communication of Learning Point’s EdTech offerings.

The Approach:

The design team embarked on this project by first establishing a clear and concise design system, documented meticulously for both current needs and future expansions. The system detailed the brand colors, typography, app icons, UI components, and states – providing a solid foundation for the Wix platform redesign. Despite the limitations of working within a predetermined template, strategic decisions in color use, typographic hierarchy, and iconography allowed for a significant transformation of Learning Point’s online presence.

To address these challenges, a strategic approach focusing on user needs and behaviors was adopted. Recognizing that a significant portion of passengers preferred convenience and seamless shopping experiences, the design process emphasized ease of use. Key assumptions included the low pre-ordering rates and the limited usage of the airline’s mobile app for purchases, indicating an opportunity to improve and promote the app’s features.

The Approach:

The solution involved designing a mobile app tailored to enhance the in-flight shopping experience. The app aimed to address slow website/app loading times, connectivity issues, and the lack of entertainment options, which were identified as major pain points through comprehensive user research. Personas such as “Frequent Flyer Farrah,” “Rare Traveler Brenda,” and “Price-Sensitive Paul” were developed to represent the diverse user base, guiding the design to cater to varied preferences and needs.

Design Implementation

The design process encompassed competitor analysis, user research, and the development of personas to inform the design thinking process. A mobile app was chosen as the optimal solution due to its potential for interactive features, offline access, and alignment with daily smartphone usage. The app blueprint included user flows for both customers and flight attendants, focusing on in-flight food orders and entertainment requests. The Solution:

Understanding Ecolux’s unique position in the luxury segment of the hospitality industry, the brand was reimagined to reflect luxury and eco-friendliness. This rebranding encompassed a new logo design that married the concepts of luxury and nature using gold and dark forest green, symbolizing premium quality and environmental consciousness.
